KCA English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

KCA’s English as a Second Language (ESL) Program is designed to help local and international students learn English quickly for personal use and goal setting, as well as preparation for post-secondary academic studies or career advancement. If there is a need to improve one’s English proficiency in language, writing and communication skills this program will help build the skills needed to be successful in future studies and career choices.

Students will be in a supportive environment for interactive learning and training with other international students and skilled professors. Skill proficiency will focus on the areas of speaking, listening, grammar, reading and writing with integrated teaching resources and classes from beginners to advanced level. Students are given the option for comprehensive TOEFL and ILES test preparation.  A customized program will be designed for students according to their needs assessment.

Our professors are experienced educators with PhDs and other degrees. They are knowledgeable in the most innovative and proven methods of teaching English as a second language based on Canadian Language Benchmarks. Our customized program include English Foundations (EF); English for Academic Purposes (EAP); English for Advanced Communication (EAC).

English Foundations

English Foundations focus on speaking, listening, grammar, reading and writing skills to develop language fluency in all levels of communication.  There are 3 Levels:

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

English for Academic Purposes are taught at 3 Levels in a non-credit academic preparation program.  This program is for high intermediate to high advanced students who need to improve their English skills before entering university, college or post-secondary institutions.

Focus in this program is: academic reading and writing; advanced grammar applications; listening and speaking skills for higher academic training.

English for Advanced Communication (EAC)

This program will help students to develop advanced oral fluency in the English language for personal, career and academic goals.  Students will study an English curriculum in speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and grammar.

• Completed Admission Application Form
• Non-Refundable Application Fee (US$100) 
• Copy (in English) of student's school report for the previous two years
